One thing that scares me on : June - Go, swap something!
To swap handmade things
are very common activities in
crafter groups abroad,
but here in Indonesia,
like Colette asked me
months before about swap group,
I haven't knew any.
So, why not make
the first time swap ever, then?
Scare of no one will
interested in the idea
at the first place,
end up with 29 scrappers
(29! Oh, my)
excitedly joined and spent
many sleepless nights
finishing their own handmade things.
You may remember my post
about the sneak peek of the swap,
and only at less than 24 hours
before the swap party started,
I can finished all these beauty.
with something sweet
to remember of course.....
and I had something else
to remember too.
During the making of these swap,
night after night,
alone at my studio,
my mind went back to a time
when I saw my mom
beautifully arranged some flowers.
(she is the master
of flower arranging,
of flower arranging,
just so you know)
I was still the same age
as my daughter now, back then.
I asked her,"Mom, why do you
have to fill in the back of
the flowers arrangement also?
It is such a waste of flower!"
And she said,
"Just like the flower arrangement
have to be beautiful from
in front and back,
we should be too as people."
Such wisdom.
To my surprise,
that line come back to me
almost 30 years later.
When I didn't even know the meaning
of what she said then,
I do now.
So I made these hanging pieces
which you can adore from in front
and back,
as a token of my mom saying.
and after the AMAZING event
was over,I came home
with all these beautiful swaps
from other scrappers...
(I took the pic the day after,
as I recover enough
from the 'happily' hang over
and deprived sleep)
was over,I came home
with all these beautiful swaps
from other scrappers...
(I took the pic the day after,
as I recover enough
from the 'happily' hang over
and deprived sleep)
Look who is also interested
in all the swap things....
sniffing and checking
which one can be allowed
to chew on....
look at that sad face
when I told her,
sorry, Sammy, nothing from here
is for you to chew on,
they all too precious for me.
after she's gone to sniff
something else in the garden,
I am safe to open all the plastic
and take pictures of them...
Precious, eh?
And it all begin with
the scare in my heart
of organizing a swap party.
Not even 24 hours after the party,
they scream for another one..
"When will be the swap part 2?
We had so much fun!"
LOL.
Patient, ladies....
go get some decent sleep first!
Oh, yes, I also received
this sweet gift from Liem Tjien
for my blog-versary.
Thank you, dear!
Keep scrapping!
With the mambo jumbo celebration
is finally over,
I sincerely pass
these small goodies
for all the scrappers.
And to you who kindly enough
to visit my home here
every now and then,
I also want to say the same thing :
Dear Ria,
I love your blog. Love all details you showed on your blog.
For the swap, I joined the swap for several times with the friends abroad. Some of them from friends of friends in Multiply. Some of them from friends in Flickr. Most of them were swap of cards, ATC, and X'mas goodies. They were all sent vial mail. So, having a direct swap like the one you held, I think it was a wonderful time, because you directly got the swap things. Amazing group. Try hard to join...

You know Ri, Swap and A Week In The Life project share the same love-hate relationship with me. Pas lagi bikinnya, "Duuuuh, gak lagi-lagi deh ikutan giniaaaaan... Kapooook!!"
Pas udahannya, "Aaaah, kapan ada lagi?? Mau lagi, mau lagiii!!"
Hahaha.. ancuuuur...
Swap darimu sekarang bergantung-gantung bergoyang-goyang di ranselku. Simply because I can't seem to let it go out of my sight :)
Rasanya semua swapped gifts itu mau aku simpen aja untuk dipandangi dan dipegangi, hahaha... not to be used :D sayaaaaang...
