Eat and Eat part 2

Just like any good and succesful movie, there is likely to be a sequel to it.

Right?
So, here it is, Eat and Eat part 2.

Although it is still at the same place, this is another part of the Eat and Eat Food Court. So, two weeks before, we only agreed to do half of the 2500m2 of it (Yes, it's that biiiiig...), because they rushed the opening within few days and the pers conference. But then, few days after the opening, the owner contacted us again to ask us to continue decorate the other half area.

My husband agreed, but I said gave me few days to recover. Got no break last week. I lost my voice after my cousin's wedding, and got sick. All I need is to sleep whole day for couple days.

Gladly, he understands.

So, after my spirit was back, I went from one market place to other market place again. Seeking for unique things. Watching how the real market and food displayed and being sold. Talking to the people. Looking for a fresh perpective. Found many interesting things.

Then, we can do these decorating for Eat and Eat part 2 :

We bring the old times traditional transportation 'delman' as a centre piece. All team already said about the assureness that kids with having much fun playing with this, and enough said will be major tourist photo taken favorite spot..Like the 'becak' that already there for two weeks.

This time, I add up many more attractive spot that will caught people by surprise, and hopefully with a smile of remembering the good old times :

Kite kiosk (kios layangan)

Old times barber shop (cukur di bawah pohon)

Small stall (warung cemilan)

Old times toys stall ( jualan mainan tradisional)

Road side fried rice stall (jualan nasi goreng pinggir jalan)

Outside people's home at the village, complete with their clothesline (suasana depan rumah di kampung)

Old times grocery store (toko kelontong)

Cigarette kiosk (kios rokok)

So, you can eat and eat and eat and eat, and enjoy plenty more different eye candies things everytime you choose different place to sit. Don't forget to taste the freshness that offered by KOPI LAY everyday :

ENJOY!

This month we celebrate the wedding of one of my cousin, Lee and Mona. Quite a party, I should said, and fulled with almost all my cousins gather together even my long long time not see, Chimmy brother..and his beautiful wife, Cassy, that come first time now to Indonesia after they'd been married almost 6 years. They are living in San Francisco. Found out later that Cassy is an artist too ! Yay! So happy to chat and spend time with her. There is not any single person that I chat with is actually familiar and passionate about the same books with me written by SARK, Lynda Barry and Keri smith. (not even my husband). So, I consider her a precious soul. You can check out her cool blog on my 'Friends' list.

Here are Chimmy and Cassy :

And my uncles and aunties from Taiwan are also here. My cousins from Taiwan, Dudu, as always, cheering my day with her personality (she is the one behind my back here..). If you can read Mandarin, check out her cute blog too on my 'Friends' list. All my cousins from Jakarta also came. Puff.. really good times...

Layer by layer, day by day.

As I found out along the way, that when you have very little spare time to do scrapbooking, you have to think of some way to get much of that precious time. I read a couple times that you have to chunk the process into pieces, but never really tried it until just recently.

So, if say today I only have 30 minutes, I will do this part :

I can even do it when I watch my kids do their homeworks. I can leave it at any moment (when the kids suddenly fighting and need a referee a.s.a.p? Yeah, that kind of moment).

Then on the other day I have 45 minutes left before I tuck in the kids to bed, I do this part :

For this page, I even don't know what picture that I want to scrap. Just play and glue all the pieces together, and don't forget to put on the foam tape to add some depth.

For this layout I choose the picture now because it had to go under the upper layer of paper border.

You only have 20 minutes on the other day?
No panic.
Because I don't need to start from zero, I don't freak out, and have more spirit to continue the flow. So I just open up my favorite brown acrylic bottle and a brush, and I do this :

Leave them all there all night long. The paint certainly need time to dry before I add anything else on them, and I certainly need time to sleep.

After a few days, of course I had time to think of many possible choices for the title of these layouts, and when I have 30 minutes spare time before dinner the next day, I do this :

And do the journaling , if you still have 10 minutes more...

For some scrapbookers, this part may be their favorite part...adding the embellishment and detail!!! Yay!!! So maybe you have to wait until you have 1 or 2 hours free time before you do this part. Because I do! Talk about productive weekend nights...

And I finally find the perfect photos for this layout :

On Sunday morning, all I need to do is take pictures of my three finished layouts before I go with my family to do our ritual grocery shopping. In beautiful morning lights...

You can have these layouts in within a week time, even if you think you don't have any spare time... Of course, you can't be a perfect scrapbooker (you see, I just find the right picture for one layout at almost the finishing part...). You can save the making for your perfect one when you have 4 or more hours 'undisturb' time.....(which we all know is kind of rare to find these days..) or really have a spare energy....(yes, even rarer....)

Both type of work suite me good. But the secret to this layer by layer type, you should pick paper/layout with the possible one color/one tone result, so you can only open one color of acrylic paint.... you can only take out one color of thickers for title.....and one colour of cardstock for matting.... That's really saving time.

Hope you find something useful from this post.

Have a nice weekend.

When you can choose pink, choose pink.

Share with you here what I made last month. Really just have the spare time to upload the picture now. Time flies in a blink, my friend, really in a blink..

So, if right now you can choose pink, i would say, choose pink.....
