On the way to Inacraft 2011 - part 3

Okay, now.
Let's see.
I am sacrificing my lunch break to post this
before I have to run again and get
all my decoration job ready for next week.
*crazy, I tell you.

I had these Colorful Life stack of papers
from DCWV and still wonder how can it
be made into scrapbook layout
without seems too daring.
(Look at those bold and bright color!)

Then, eureka!
Their fate is to be made into
artful journal album!

Art journal-ers rejoice!

Oh those killing words.
and colors.

I decided to use simple 3 rings to bind them,
which give you a complete flexibility
to open any page, take it out,
and paint, scratch, spray, splash, emboss,
make texture or anything else you can think of.

I tried other kind of binding, actually,
like this.
But the space for journaling became limited
and not giving all the versatility
like I said before.

You love more flexibility, don't you?
*wink

And the result of one week of
drawing (together with both my kids),
tracing, cutting, gluing, are resulted
in this picture.

Hello, owls.

I can't promise that there will be lot of
original owls like them at INACRAFT 2011,
but I will print them on fabric,
so, there will be some of these owls
that you can grab,
I promise!

Which one is your favorite?

Mine is this big browny curious one.
*don't ask me why.LOL

Well,
I still have time to eat my salad,
so, bye for now!

Sending more love for you today.

Say hello to my new owls

Yes, I am happy.

Even when I have to sacrifice my nap
(which I deserve so so much)
on this lovely Sunday afternoon
to edit all the pictures here
and make this post.
Even when I had a hand cramp(again)
last night.
Even when my daughter still on recovery
from the virus that made her
couldn't eat for 3 days now.
And I had to feed her all day
or else she refused to eat.
Even when my decor deadline coming faster
than a snow ball.

I am happy.

Because the new owls are ready.

They are going to be printed
into several products for INACRAFT 2011.
First thing of course on canvas bags
-which many scrappers who didn't get
a chance to grab the owl bags at Pasar Seni
because they all sold out-
are most waited ones,
maybe also on pencil cases, postcards,
or anything else if I still have time.

I made them in so many short span
of creating times.
Most of the span were of course
after midnight
when the house was quiet.

As usual, I made the base for the painting
using pattern papers, collage them
using gel medium matt.

Then I left them to dry overnight.
When I was back from work in the afternoon
I played with the new PRIMA masks

I didn't use glimmer mist which usually
very easy to use with masks,
because this time I didn't want to have
bold spraying effect all over the paper.
And I love love love
the result which is really unpredictable.

Just after this steps,
my daughter got fever.
I stay awake with her that night
until she could sleep,
and I feel asleep beside her.
 The next morning,
after a trip to the doctor,
I canceled all my appointments
for that day and stay at home to feed her.

An hour when she took a nap
I made this progress
using Donna Downey foam stamp.

Then I decided to gesso it so the tone
will not be too strong
and competing with the owl later,
then I add green acrylic paint to the edge.

Stamped on other pages

And because the next day she still cranky
and cannot go to school for sure,
I went to the office and back in record time.
*insert a sleepy face here*

More time at home,
I can begin to draw the owls

Leave them for a few hours,
I came back to them after my daughter
feel asleep. And my personal assistant
a.k.a my son, also went to bed tired.
I could outlined the owls calmly.

For a girl who love texture more than anything,
these are far from done.
I picked up my thread and yarns,
and begin to sew the owls.
But since the base were already
thicken by pattern papers in layers,
I had to poke all the holes first.

That night,
I slept with hand cramp.
*yes, insert again an exhausted face here*

But it's all worth it
when I saw them this morning,
I am so so happy.
And yes, my daughter is also getting better.

Say hello to HAPPY OWL

Say hello to BEAUTIFUL OWL

and last but not least,
say hello to LAUGH OWL,

That's it!
Which one is your favorite?
*insert a smiling face here*

You know me,
I have to write some more words
to make them complete.
*chuckle*

And these words are my favorite

Have I told you
that they are limited?
Very limited?

Say hello to them when you see my owls
at INACRAFT 2011, will you?
and they will happily follow you home.

On the way to Inacraft 2011 - part 2

She must had gone somewhere,
you may think,
with almost two weeks
without any single posting here.

Nop.
I am still here.
Pulled away from the social life
as much as I could
so I could have more valuable time
to create and make tons of things
for INACRAFT 2011.

One is here now.

I had uploaded this Bo Bunny layout
from their latest Gabrielle series
last week on my FB,
and I can't thank you all enough
for the warm responses.

I made this layout because I fall in love
with their bold color of butterflies,
and I wanted to make a layout
that can be spread as a decor
(when I want to)
but as a simple girl as I am,
I just want to fold it down when
there is not any fancy occasion,
and simply slip it into my 12x12
plastic album,
like this :

Don't you love the simplicity?
I do.
And the oval frame can be put away easily.

Actually I didn't design the decor
with that oval frame in mind.
I got it as a gift from the loving friends
I met at Scraptworld last month
when I taught workshops at Surabaya.

The finished decor without the frame
is looked like this

So it is really your choice
to spice it up with the frame
(which I will alter later)
or just display it like this.
I just found that the oval cream frame
is so click with the whole thing.

In these limited kits that will be sold
at INACRAFT 2011,
I already made the base for the layout spread
for you, plus add the 12x12 chipboard,
trinkets and layered stickers
so you can decorate the decor as you please.
And yeees,
The oval frame will also be included
in the kit cause I ordered more! Yay!

Here are some close up

My other projects are calling,
so, bye for now!

On the way to Inacraft 2011 - part 1

Time flies
In lightning speed

No kidding

It feel like last month
my Inacraft 2010 exhibition just over,
(For you who are not Indonesian,
this is the biggest annual Craft fair
in Indonesia),
now I already begin the journey
to make stuff for Inacraft 2011
which will be held on April 20-24th
at JHCC Jakarta.

only 5 weeks left.
*Jeng jeng.

And I started last week
with those gorgeous handmade flowers
on the photo above....

Then I move on to tackle
these latest series from PRIMA
which came in intriguing A4 size.
Their chipboard are also a bless.
I combine them and made
these simple ring albums.

There are pockets inside
to store more journaling

And whenever I could spend a weekend
undisturbed at the studio,
I come out with full hands!
LOL

This series of 'Circa 1034'
which sits quite awhile in my stacks
found its partner for life
in Lille tags from 7 gypsies
which I was dying to use
since I first grabbed them without thinking.

As a girl who is
paralyzed without words,
these kind of album/journal
make my heart sings a beautiful tunes.

Those are part one.
I will be back
with more progress for the exhibition,
also in lighting speed.
*wink
