Begin the second SMASH album
They patiently waiting for me for months.
*sigh*
And having some leisure time this week,
I choose two of new SMASH books
(yes, two, not one,
the pink one and the beige to begin
a new adventure in art journaling)
My first one, orange SMASH book,
is almost full,
but always open for small addition here&there.
To begin with,
lets take a look what we have here.
Seems familiar?
Some tissue packaging
from knick knack, clothes, shoes.
Open any random page,
(I don't necessarily fill it in order
and you don't need too)
stick the tissue with matt gel medium.
Again, remind you,
don't use gloss gel medium,
it will stick to other pages over time.
Let dry.
Pour the always-come-handy gesso.
Use wet tissue to blend it.
The wet look
The dried look
Taking out the 'recycle' round mask
and I choose turquoise acrylic
for the accent color.
Don't forget to put a plastic base
between the pages.
Hello, turquoise.
Don't forget the other side.
I spritz some water after,
to blend it with the white page.
You see,
the plastic mask still carry lot of paint
and I don't like to wash it off
before it have nothing.
So I open random pages again,
this time on my first book
(told you I keep it open for possibilities)
and clean my mask here.
Spritz with water again.
See the difference?
The half done pages.
Remember I keep on talking about
the powerful visual triangle
while I teach beginner classes?
These three spots of turquoise is one of them.
Can you spot another triangle?
Yes!
The pink tissue, pink butterflies on the top,
and pink writings.
This is how I use
the almost empty glimmer mist bottles.
You can't spray them anymore.
So I splash a tiny amount of it.
And when it almost use up,
the glimmer mist have richest glam.
Enthralling.
Found the black chairs somewhere in my stash,
so I just stick them there.
Digging for black embellishment to match that,
and I found old collection of this sticker.
The famous favorite quote
which will never grow old on me.
When I'm positioning it,
the butterfly gets blocked.
There, I cut it.
The saying goes on the top page.
Time for adding third colors.
Don't forget,
add some too on the first book.
I have this half-done pages by noon today,
and will continue on them
SOMETIMES in the future.
That's the beauty of SMASH book instead of
scrapbooking pages,
you can left it undone without feeling any guilt,
and come back to it
just like old friends meet up again.
How is yours?
If you still wonder how to begin with
your SMASH book,
you better sign up to this event now.
You'll get lots of tricks and tips
for smashing vivaciously!
Meet you there!
love it, love, love it..

Love your ideas. I'm transitioning from card making to journaling...not that card making will be left behind.
