Enjoying Beijing

Hello, China.
Hello, Beijing.
Hello to Peking Roast Duck (almost) every night, yum.
Hello to 'no taste' food, especially soup.
Hello IKEA with the lowest price (on earth?).
Hello to a place with no lock on the door (sometimes even with no door at all) that they call toilet, amazingly still can be found here. And the smell? Hello? Should I describe it?
Hello terrific weather in late autumn...a chill with still sunshine and windy night.
Hello to no hello. The limited capability to speak English (even in a 5 star hotels) made me have to squeeze hard my limited vocab in Chinese. My husband sticks close to me as his spoke person or, used body language in many emergencies.
Hello to walking endlessly in Forbidden City. We laughed so hard imagining how the servants could survive running here and there through that huuuuge place without phone or aiphone.
Hello to no queueing whatsoever. On the streets, in the MRT station, even in front of the cashier. If you are a Singaporean, I think you'll have a slightly delusional feeling that they are from different species. Really, that bad.
Hello to Olympic Stadium.
Hello to touching the greatness of The Great Wall. No climbing activity, okay? Okay. Thanks.
Hello to having fun in Tibetan stores.
Hello to beautiful pictures.
Then,
say Hello to BEIJING 798.
The surprises you find in every corner, the unique views you see in every steps of the way, every store with different door, different handmade things, endless gallery, just made me and my husband fall in love with this artistic place so much. Book shop with a wishing tree (a real tree) inside, or a handmade postcard shop with posting service internationally, gift shop with the originality from it's own artist with cozy coffee shop inside. I easily forgot that I was thousand miles from home and I had to squeeze everything in my luggage later, my hand became full of the things that I am surely love for a long long time.
So, Beijing is Beijing in it's own oriental food, street, people and goodies. But Beijing 798 is Beijing 798 in it's different perspective, full of young people with hunger for internationally taste of food, goodies, and ideas, but yet, they are still uniquely Chinese in every way.

Really enjoy the narration..smiling and laughing a lot!! ;p Great great great pictures!!! =D

hadddooooohhh..... i'm speechless..
yr pictures say 1000 words.. :)
