Sneak peek for my next class!

I was falling in love love love with
this Crate Paper's line:
The color and embellishment
just send me back right away to
my good childhood times.

The class will be :
ALL ABOUT TOYS

I create a memory drawer
where I can secretly put 7 mini albums
inside it....(yes, not 1, or 2, but 7!)
recording how the toys
once ruled my kids precious years.
Plus I can secretly put inside
my son's hot wheels,
or his mini dinosaurs,
or my daughter favorite hair clips,
finger puppets,
or their favorite candy wrappers.
Hmm, what else?

Almost anything I can think of,
that by the time I open the drawer
10 years from now,
guarantee to bring all the good memories
(and guarantee for some tears too)

Yes,
there will be two kinds of drawers,
(for two separate classes)
one for boys' drawer
and one for girls'.
This one for the boys:

And that precious drawer will not
be completed without that enchanting decor
above them.
So so precious.

Till we meet at the class!

Playing with distress crackle paint and perfect pearls

While I was making another class project
for next month,
my dear friend, Suryanti, gave me
this cute bird house box to play with.
Thanks, Sur!

I covered it with 7 gypsies collage tissues
which turned out have to be handled
extra careful when applied with gel medium.
(See my un-patient finger caused
the shred at the corner at the photo above,
and again at the photo below.
But I kept going.)

The time to play was just perfect
when I got the distress crackle paint
the following day.
Here I used 'vintage photo' color

I watched several video about this product
on youtube before, and I tried several thickness
to see the differences.

This is the result for medium thickness.

finishing the edges using

Then, it's time to play with the stamp!
here I used Melody Ross' stamp.

On Tim Holtz's video,
he uses distress ink to stamp,
to give some extra time to put on
the Perfect Pearls, also from Rangers.

Here is the result,
after I blurred the edge using spray mist.

And I tried other color of perfect pearls
to the edge.
I love the bold shimmer effect.
To seal the pearl,
I spray some Winsor&Newton

There.
My time to play is up.
I have to get back to my project,
since the deadline is getting closer.
Yaiks.

I'll post again when I finished
embellish the inside mini album!

Bye for now.

Art journal

I simply forgot
when was the last time
I had fun doing art journal.
Maybe this time?
or even this time?
*horor face*

That long, huh?

And this journal page
was also unintended to happen to be done.
I found a Canson paper
that already sprayed by glimmer mist
Maybe from last year.
*Yaiks.
The colors are so bright and pleasing.
The next minute I already cut it
to the size of my regular art journal,
punched all the holes,
and placing the wall decor's stickers
that I also found in my stash
(Gee, so much treasure in my stash,
you see.)
I thought better use those stickers
before I lose it somewhere.
So I did.
(Wise decision, huh?)

Left the page half done,
and this morning,
I wrote down some journaling.

The white radiant rain
is so glimmerish, it resist even the
permanent black marker.
Cool.
Just cool.

Mixing more colors
using opaque paint box colors
around the glimmer mist spraying
and they all blend beautifully.

And there it is.
A journal page is done.

What do you plant
every day?

Everyday Life - beginner class - May 21st 2011

I am back from the class!
Look at all these scrappers....
Some of them are really a newbie..
just start to scrap today!
While the others had tried
to scrap at home themselves.

And voila,
they all fell in love with scrapbooking!

I have one question for you,
of all the teachers that have to
teach from preschool to high school,
which one do you think
have the most responsibility
and working the hardest?

You say preschool teachers?
Yeah!
You right!

Because the hands of the preschool teachers
are the hands that responsible
to mold those tiny little brain
for the love of learning
that will last a lifetime for the kids.

I don't dare to become one.
But in scrapbooking world,
beginner class is a little bit like
that preschool situation.
I have those responsibility.
Either you walked out from the class
feeling confused and overwhelmed
and don't want to do scrapbook again,
or
you had fun
and cannot stop to scrap.

Thanks God,
they had fun.

They had fun with the border punching...

They had fun with spraying glimmer mist
onto the chipboard embellishment...
(and the flower made by tissue paper
that used for backing sheet)

They had fun with the embossing technique
and comparing it with using glossy accent.

They just had fun creating the layout

And of course....
they had fun with the pizza
at 1.30 pm!
We lost track of time for sure.

Since it was weekend
and many moms have to bring their kids too,
the kids happily help mommies
to do the scrap thingy.LOL
Good mommies!

And at the end of the class,
after I made paper towel's flower,
Levana, who also a card maker,
generously share the simple technique
to coloring stamp image using copic markers.
Nice tips! Thanks, dear!

Oh, I had much fun too.
Some of them became buddies
just straight after the class was over.
So so happy to see that.

Keep scrapping...
Keep documenting your life....
Keep having fun.....

The kits are ready!

Hey hey...
Look at this yummy-ness!
(Is that even a word?)

The kits are ready
to welcome many new scrappers
at my beginners' class this weekend.

Always have butterflies in my stomach
before classes,
excited butterflies that is.

More stories after the class done.

You too have an exciting weekend ahead,
okay?

Another silver -or perhaps gold- lining

For everything you have missed,
you have gained something else
Ralph W.Emerson

Over these past two weeks
I am very grateful for another silver,
or like I said so,
perhaps gold, lining.
God gave me something else,
for a decision that I made two years ago
with tears and broken soul.

You're always too kind, Lord.

Above picture
was the sky when i went to work last week.
Took it using my iphone inside my car,
just after I read a tweet:
"Look up.
Look for a silver lining."

And I cried.

Next beginner's class

Many scrappers and crafters
asked me when will I open another class
for beginner.
They really want to get started,
but not too overwhelmed by the project.
Some are from my advanced students,
who successfully dragged their friends
to fall in love with scrapbook too,
but don't know where their friends
can begin to learn.

I planed and planed,
only to realize now that it was 13 months
ago that I make this class
for beginner scrappers.

Gosh!
*fainted*

Sooo sorry for those of you who wait.
Now it's your time and your chance
to really put your feet into the pool.
Join me in this beginner class
and swim happily making scrapbook layouts
and albums
and projects
and stuff.

Book now!

See you soon.

Happily being in other's classes

Last week
I was happily being in other's classes.
Better yet,
they were once my talented scrapbook students,
then we become good friends over the years,
and now they confidently have classes
by their own.

So proud of them.

First class was
"Merry Go Around" workshop by Suryanti
(at the above picture)

And at the weekend I enjoyed
"I Love You Sew Much" workshop
(at the picture below)

Being in a class as student
always become an enjoyment for me.
I love learning how other's perspective
in doing their projects.

If you only wish that you will learn
new techniques at every classes,
oh, well, dear,
you can just sit down for an hour a day
and watch those youtube videos
for all the tips and techniques
which I guarantee will covering
all your curiosity
on how to use any product/medium/tools.

So for me,
attending classes is more about
opening my perspective
on how the teacher created the project
using the exact same supplies I had
in my stash.

And these two classes
served that purpose very well indeed.

This is the "Merry Go Around" project
with slightly modification to add more depth
to the carousel.

And this is the
"I Love You Sew Much" mini album
plus a cute basket to safely store it

I adore how Alice thought about all
the details nicely.

Inside mini album :

Thank you my dear,
Suryanti and Alice,
for such enjoyable classes
and adorable projects.

Here here to many more classes to come!
Cheers!
