My next class - first one on 2011

My sincere apology for you scrappers
who await patiently and keep asking me
when will this special class take place
since I first announced it on July on FB.
Oh my
Since July?
That's 6 months ago.*Glegkh*

Yes.
Life was not happening the way I planned.
(Classic, huh?)
Don't exactly remember who pushed
the 'speed on' button,
with that much deadlines for decorating
and other stuff happened in between,
these class kits had been sitting prettily
in my studio till now.
*Sigh*

Now,
after you forgive me,
email me at rbagus@melsa.net.id
to book your spot, right now.
Because no more than four seats left
from all thirty for two sessions.
I am not kidding.

See you soon at the class!

NOTE : The classes are FULLY BOOKED.
thank you dear scrappers.
See you soon.

Container lover

If you are a container lover like I am,
finding these chic small containers
like these, will only delight your heart.
I found them at MUJI store, last weekend,
and assure myself that I need them.
*grins*

During many of my scrapping times,
I find out a pattern of the mind,
(well, at least my own)
to use only what my eyes can lay upon.
And which can easily be picked up too.
So, some embellishment
that putting inside a plastic/box altogether
like die cuts, tags, transparencies,
journal cards, or else,
are hardly chosen to use until
the last bits, because I am too lazy
to open all the plastic/box
every time I scrap!

Look at these!
After I chose one or two
of these die cuts to use on layout,
put them again in the plastic,
I tend to pick up a new or other ones
next time I do scrapping.
Do you?

Once I put the rest of them (after using)
inside plastic boxes with lid,
but only help a little bit on the process,
since boxes with lids,
also tend to be not open every time.

Imagine my rejoice,
when I found these containers,
without lids,
that can be put on top of each other
with the size that PERFECT for
almost all the die cut & tags
for scrapbooks (11x15cm)
See?

Yes,
very easy to stack them like this.
And thanks to Japanese design
that always chic and clean.

Look at these two sizes of depth.
I really really love it.

Just now,
I open up many of my new bought die cuts
and store them here.
I know I will really using them
if I put it this way.
*finger crossed*
To remind me which brand and line
the die cuts go to,
I simply cut the top of the packaging
and put it at the bottom of each stack.

Hope you find some fresh idea
to tidy up your scrapbook embellishments
after this post.

Have a tidying up day!

Christmas weekend - family gathering & books hunting

My big family spent this Christmas weekend
together at Jakarta.
Why Jakarta?
Because not only my two brothers live there
and they don't go anywhere abroad this year,
same with me, who stuck in work till
New Year time.
*tears*
but also because this weekend is
the last days for many leading bookstore
at Jakarta,
that offering crazy discount.
Gramedia Grand Indonesia 30%,
Kinokuniya 20%,
Aksara 20%

If you know my family history long enough
you will not be surprise to hear
that hunting books during
this discount time like yesterday and today
is like getting our own chosen gift
from Santa.

And these are our family's gift

The pile is looking good,
isn't it?

My favorite found is
"Creative is a verb" by Patti Digh
who wrote "Life is a verb" back then.
I adore her writing.
And her chosen quote to go with her subject
always delight me.

As I always say to myself,
sometimes I look for books,
sometimes they look for me.

Hope you have a good holiday too!

Ba-koel food court at Dago, Bandung

Bandung,
my sweet hometown
is always known for its cozy weather
and good food.

And to enjoy both,
everyone will seek a perfect place
that can offer two of those.
Many had answered that requirement,
so what we made now is adding
one more to our beloved city.

My husband with his company, Gallery Living,
renovated the whole first floor
of an old building,
Planet Dago at Dago street,
near Kimia Farma,
and made a new concept of cozy food court
in the heart of Bandung.
My part of the job is as always,
decorated it.

Here,
we present to you,
Ba-koel food court

Years ago,
we had seen the brilliant concept of
wall hanging garden at Paragon Mall, Bangkok.
We tried to make the mini version of
that wall garden here.

of course,
all using real plants like these

Aren't they just gloriously green
and such a cozy corner?

And guilty as charged,
It is me who picked this sage green
for the columns.
Even the chairs.
Ahooy, green lovers,
come on in! LOL

This is the condition of the place
when I finished the decoration process
on Dec 18th.
The place was still too dusty
(The cleaning services hadn't came yet)
and the table setting was still not fixed,
so it was hard to be pictured from a far.
I will add couple of pictures next week
after the place open on Dec 25th.
yes, with the Ba-koel sign.

I will leave you now,
with last cozy corner to ponder,
The outdoor dining
Join me sometimes here for coffee, will you?

2010 Daily Journal

As I promised yesterday here,
I successfully stole some time this morning
to take pictures of this year journal.

See the blow up pages here?
I am not making that up, right?

While at the beginning of the year,
it started simply like this.
What could I say, girl?
A year in recording is HUGE.

And I tossed everything I want to remember
here.

Like my kids' artwork or report

somethings I made

Daily gems that came to me.
Sometimes I found them,
sometimes they found me.

I even don't mind to stick the scraps
where I write down the sayings
at the first place.

Testing some new products,
or pens,
or paints.

Recycle my favorite pages from magazines
like these

Record many events that happened
the whole year

For a girl who loves texture so much,
you'll find these in my journal for sure.

Absolutely precious to me.

And for you who still in the on-and-off-mode
to fill in your daily journal,
what better time to start than now?
Grab your favorite planner for 2011,
NOW!
And start filling it with your heart,
begin at Jan 1st.

And again,
as many times before,
I will answer your most favorite question
that many of you had asked me,
"Where do you find the time to do
all of this, Ria?"
My answer is still the same.
I cut down the amount of TV watching
to the minimum.
Sometimes I only sit there
because I want to be beside my kids
who watch their program.
And my hands (who are not watching)
do something else.
I even can happily not watching any programs
for one whole week.
My life still run perfectly well without it
as I get the latest scoops of news
from other sources.

Why don't you try for one week
and see what you miss?

As for me,
I never miss any.
And I get this precious journal
by the end of the year.

My 2009 daily journal is here
and the 2008's is here
in case you want to peek more
and get some inspirations to start
one of your own next year.
